Cruisin’ The Coast® is known as America’s Largest Block Party, a week‑long celebration of antique, classic, and hot‑rod vehicles along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Launched in 1996 with just 374 registered cars, the event has grown into a massive automotive festival, drawing nearly 10,000 registered vehicles in 2024 and participants from 45 states as well as Canada, Germany, and Puerto Rico.

Each year, car enthusiasts cruise a 30‑mile stretch of beachfront highway with official stops in Bay St. Louis, Biloxi, D’Iberville, Gulfport, Pass Christian, Ocean Springs, and Pascagoula. Every venue functions as its own mini‑festival, complete with live music, food vendors, merchandise, and reserved parking for registered cruisers. Participants receive an ID card and program with maps, allowing them to plan their own schedule in this open‑cruise format.

The week features cruise‑ins, a Salute to Our Veterans, a car auction, swap meet, car corral, and a parade. Spectators are encouraged to attend and will find that cruisers love sharing stories about their vehicles.

The event is powered by 12 Host Car Clubs and more than 700 volunteers, with hundreds more working behind the scenes year‑round. Volunteers in bright yellow shirts help with registration, parking, directions, and guest support.

Now the largest special event in Mississippi, Cruisin’ The Coast® has earned numerous honors, including the Governor’s Excellence in Tourism Award, the Southeast Tourism Society’s Shining Example Award, recognition by the American Bus Association as a “Top 100 Event,” and the Automotive Restoration Market’s Restoration Event of the Year.
